25 Years of Empowering Youth

This year marks 25 years of Take a Hike. That means we’ve been supporting youth with our one-of-a-kind program for a quarter of a century!
It’s a huge milestone for us, one that honors our past, the youth we serve, and our community of dedicated supporters. It’s a milestone we couldn’t have reached without the generosity of our supporters, who we share this celebration with.

Since opening our flagship program in Vancouver 25 years ago, we’ve supported over 2,000 youth experiencing vulnerability to change the trajectory of their lives. With our recent expansion into Ontario, we’re now operating 16 programs across two provinces.

We are as committed as ever to youth mental health and education across Canada, and this commitment was recently recognized by the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade at the 2025 Business Distinction Awards, where we were named Non-Profit of the Year.

But the work does not stop here. Today’s youth are navigating challenges like never before, making our program even more vital.

We invite you to spread the word about our anniversary and impact, using the resources in this toolkit to make sharing easy.
