Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Take a Hike!  There are two different areas for you to volunteer: With the youth in the Take a Hike program, or behind the scenes with the Take a Hike Foundation.

Program Volunteers

Interested in being a positive role model for at-risk youth as an outdoor leader or in-class mentor?  Volunteers will join the youth on weekly outdoor trips and/or spend time in the classroom.

Foundation Volunteers

Volunteer roles include marketing and promotion, fundraising, creative writing, event planning, and many more. Roles are continuously changing and being created every month. Examples of current roles we're looking to fill: 

1) Grant Investigator Extraordinaire - Compile Foundation and Corporate granting requirements, deadlines new opportunities, and prioritize.  Re-format current prospect document (if you like organizing docs, this is for you!)

2) Great Grant Writer - Compile several grant applications for various Foundation and Corporate prospects.  The volunteer will have plenty of flexibility and room for creativity, as well as have access to previous applications for guidance.

3) Snowshoe Committee Member - Have great creative ideas to get the word out?  Do you have experience getting sponsorship and want to help us out?  Know a company that may want to support this event?  Be a part of this team!

4) Interviewer &/or Writer Extraordinaire - Conduct interviews and complile summaries of special individuals with a connection to Take a Hike.

5) Got ideas, talent, skills you'd like to share? The Take a Hike program is strengthened with the support of the larger community. If you have suggestions as to how you'd like to get involved, we'd love to hear from you.
