Nick joined Take a Hike in September 2005 to teach the grade 10 class. He has an Honours Degree in English and History from the University of Victoria. Nick grew up at Strathcona Park Lodge, where he acquired valuable experience and developed his love for the outdoors.

He has been working seasonally in the outdoors for 13 years (which is considerable for someone 30 years of age) as an outdoor educator, paddling instructor and backcountry guide. He is currently furthering his studies and plays multiple sports.
